Supporters and Friends,

With heartfelt gratitude and enthusiasm we reflect on the past year at Cincinnati Shakespeare Company and extend our deepest appreciation for your unwavering support. From groundbreaking productions to innovative educational initiatives and engaging community programming, your generous contributions were instrumental in shaping our success over the past year.

On our Mainstage, your support allowed us to champion emerging voices, create fresh interpretations of classic plays, and advance our strategic commitment to cultural diversity and artistic innovation on our stage. Whether we were creating an original musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s As You Like It; producing the world-premiere of The Living Dead (a play commissioned right here at CSC); honoring the legacy of Alice Childress with a captivating production of Trouble in Mind; or transferring a play to off-Broadway with the world-premiere of The Rewards of Being Frank, this season has been nothing short of extraordinary.

Beyond the Mainstage, we found new ways to expand access, embrace and celebrate diverse voices, and enrich our community’s cultural landscape. We provided quality educational experiences to thousands students of all ages, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and empathy through the power of Shakespeare and the Classics. Our FREE Shakespeare in the Park Tour brought the magic of Shakespeare to neighborhoods across the city, breaking down barriers and making classical theatre accessible to all. Our YP Preview Night, provided a platform for young professionals to connect, network, and enrich their theatergoing experience. And, just in time for Cincinnati Pride, our ShakesQUEER event--a Shakespeare-inspired drag show—was a beacon of diversity, inclusion, and the power of self-expression.

As we read more and more headlines about theatres cancelling productions, laying off staff, or closing entirely after decades of serving their communities, we are filled with gratitude for your continued belief in our mission. Together, we have elevated new stories, sparked vital conversations, nurtured the next generation of theatre lovers, and built a stronger, more vibrant community through the transformative power of theatre.

Thank you for being an invaluable part of our journey. Your presence in our audience is the lifeblood of our performances, and we cannot wait to celebrate our 30th Anniversary Season with you soon!

See you at the theater,

Brian Isaac Phillips

Producing Artistic Director

To our Donors and Patrons,

Despite the vicissitudes of the past year, your generosity has been the bedrock of our operations, providing the financial resources necessary to sustain our artistic endeavors and continue delivering exceptional theatrical experiences to our community.

As demonstrated by our conservative budgeting, strong cash reserves, and the leadership of our staff and Board, we are immensely proud of our commitment to fiscal responsibility, ensuring that our organization remains resilient even in the face of adversity. Your philanthropic support has enabled us to weather the ongoing storm, scaling back when needed, innovating to meet changing demand, and rebuilding our programs to ensure the longevity and vitality of this organization.

In spite of the challenges we continue to face, I am filled with optimism for the future. The unwavering commitment shown by our community of patrons and donors has demonstrated the resilience and enduring spirit of Cincinnati Shakespeare Company. Together, we have proven that even in the most trying times, the power of the arts and the transformative nature of live performance remain steadfast.

As we look forward to our 30th Anniversary Season, we are committed to honoring your trust in our ability to bring Shakespeare and the Classics to life for all. With your support, we will forge ahead, delivering exceptional theatrical experiences, cultivating new voices, and strengthening the cultural fabric of our community.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company thrives because of you.

With gratitude,

Rosemary Schlachter
