Two Hours' Traffic

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's Touring Company, comprised of six professional actors, will be touring A Midsummer Night's Dream and Julius Caesar in the 2011-2012 school year. These productions clock in under two hours, and the Touring Company can perform in almost any space (approximately 15' x 20'), including gyms, theaters, and libraries. The show concludes with a question-and-answer session to allow the students to talk with the actors and gain new insight into the play. Appropriate for sixth grade and up.

A Midsummer Night's Dream
What happens when feuding fairies meddle in the love lives of human couples?  Comical adventures, mistaken identities, and a silly play-within-a-play!  In this whimsical forest, a happy ending is guaranteed for both sprites and mortals alike.

Julius Caesar
Friends turned into bitter enemies. Terrible prophesies fulfilled. And one of the most famous deaths in history. William Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” takes to your stage with a timeless tale of power, politics, and passion. With Rome on the brink of a civil war, we are left to watch and wonder: Will Brutus seek redemption for his moment of deception, or will the ghosts of Rome torment his final days?

In Love with Shakespeare

Fall in love with Shakespeare in this 45-minute comedic showcase of famous Shakespearean love scenes and sonnets. Three professional actors from the Touring Company will bring this amusing, heartwarming, and family-friendly production to just about anywhere, including parks, libraries, retirement communities, schools, and bookstores. Appropriate for all ages!

Shakespearience Workshops

An in-depth teaching tool brings one to six Cincinnati Shakespeare Company professional actors into your classroom to perform and discuss scenes from any Shakespeare play. Each program is tailored to the needs of your class. Appropriate for fourth grade and up.  Some ideas from past topics include:
-An Introduction to Shakespeare: His History and Works
-From the Page to the Stage: Workshop on Performing the Text
-Curriculum Connections: Guided in-depth scene study of a play, scene or sonnet your class is currently studying.
-Acting, monologue workshops and audition techniques for emerging young actors.
-Corporate vocal and presentation courses for your company or organization.

Prices vary based on number of actors and length of teaching time requested.  Extended residency options are also available- call to discuss your needs.
