Young Company


Alex Brooks (Young Company, First Season) graduated from Emory University, where he earned his B.A. in theater studies after spending his final semester in Arezzo, Italy, at the Accademia dell'Arte. Upon his return to the States, he appeared at a number of Atlanta-area theaters, including Georgia Shakespeare, Theater in the Square, Actor's Express, and PushPush. Alex is excited beyond all reason to make the move to Cincinnati to join Cincinnati Shakespeare Company for the 2007-08 season.
 
Billy Chace (Young Company, First Season) has studied theater at George Mason University in Northern Virginia and with The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington D.C. He has been seen as Hercule Poirot in Black Coffee at The Lazy Susan Dinner Theater and in the ensemble of Nathan the Wise with Theater of the First Amendment. He has most recently enjoyed playing Don John and Dogberry in Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's summer park tour of Much Ado About Nothing.
 
Derrick Ledbetter (Young Company, First Season) comes from Atlanta, Georgia, where he earned his B.A. in theater from Brenau University. He also holds an A.A. from Gainesville State College. He is a proud alumnus of the Gainesville Theatre Alliance. Some of his favorite shows with GTA include Equus, Metamorphoses, An Ideal Husband, The Jungle Book, Stone Soup, and Proposals. Derrick has worked with Georgia Shakespeare and Fort Salem Theater in New York, and is overjoyed to spend time with Cincinnati Shakespeare Company. He would like to thank his parents, Jim, Gay, and Sarah, for all their love and support.
 
Jessica Rothert (Young Company, First Season) is a recent graduate of Indiana University, where she received a B.A. in theater and drama. She is a native of Covington, Kentucky, and is excited to be back in the Cincinnati area to perform with Cincinnati Shakespeare Company. Jessica recently performed with Queen City Off Broadway playing Edna in Waiting for Lefty and Claire in the one-woman show Why Is John Lennon Wearing a Skirt? Favorite past roles include Honor in Honour, Abigail Williams in The Crucible, Olga in Three Sisters, and Yelena in Uncle Vanya. She would like to thank her family, friends, and especially her parents for their unwavering support.
